Support an up-to-date supervision record
BACP registered members must have appropriate supervision in place, keep an up-to-date record, demonstrate its impact on practice and provide records for audit if requested. The appropriate amount and arrangement depends on the practitioner’s workload, context, experience and applicable membership or organisational requirements.
PracticeKit does not prescribe a universal number of hours. Agree suitable arrangements with an appropriately experienced supervisor and check the current requirements relevant to your practice.
Protect confidentiality in supervision
Communications about clients in supervision should remain consistent with the confidentiality agreement made with the client and any applicable agency policy. Where practical, use thoroughly anonymised information rather than identifiable details.
