About PracticeKit

Private professional records, shaped by counselling practice

PracticeKit began with a simple idea: the records surrounding counselling should be easier to organise without turning them into another cloud practice-management system.

Why PracticeKit exists

Counsellors often maintain client records, CPD plans, supervision logs and safeguarding documentation across several unrelated tools. That fragmentation creates repetitive administration and makes it harder to see whether professional records are complete and current.

PracticeKit brings these areas together in one practitioner-only iPad app designed for qualified counsellors, psychotherapists and therapists practising in the UK.

Built from practitioner experience

PracticeKit was founded by Helen Hughes, a BACP-registered therapist with more than a decade in practice. Her experience of maintaining professional records alongside client work shaped the product’s structure and priorities.

Our product principles

Professionally focused

Client records, CPD, supervision and safeguarding each have a distinct purpose and workflow.

Privacy-focused

Working client data stays on the practitioner’s iPad rather than a PracticeKit cloud service.

Human-authored

The app does not record sessions, generate notes from client conversations or automate professional decisions.

What PracticeKit is—and is not

PracticeKit is professional record-keeping software. It helps organise client records, CPD, supervision and safeguarding documentation. It does not provide bookings, billing, payments, telehealth or client accounts. It does not diagnose or treat mental-health conditions, provide clinical advice, make safeguarding decisions or determine whether a practitioner is professionally or legally compliant.

PracticeKit is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, certified by or endorsed by BACP.

Transparency and contact

Our Privacy & Data Practices page explains how the app handles information, including device-only working storage, encrypted backups and restricted error reporting.
